Kunos Simulazioni has surprised many Sim racers out there with the quality and look of the models in the Assetto Corsa Simulator. F1Racer from RacingRenders.com fame asked permission to render some of the Assetto Corsa models, and KS kindly said yes. The first batch of six renders in full HD show us the Ferrari F40. This 3 litre twin-turbo V8 Supercar has been a favourite of many ever since it became part of the Early Access version of AC.
The Ferrari F40 has been manufactured from 1987 to 1992. It is powered by a turbocharged version of the Ferrari 288 GTO engine. With its 1,100 kg and a power output of 478 PS (352 kW; 471 hp) the F40 had a tremendous performance potential. 0–100 km/h could be achieved in 3.8 seconds, making it the fastest, most powerful, but also most expensive car that Ferrari put up for sale. For most people out there, the F40 would never be more then a favourite bedroom poster. To keep the dream alive, you can now drive the virtual version of the Ferrari F40 in the Assetto Corsa Simulator.
Assetto Corsa is being designed to provide a very realistic driving experience, with single player and multiplayer options, officially licensed cars and tracks developed using Laser scan technology, and the highest level of accuracy possible in reproducing real world motor racing environments. Also, Assetto Corsa will allow for considerable customisation and modification, in order to satisfy the expectations of professional sim racers, gamers who prefer to approach the driving experience more progressively, and hobbyists who just like to collect lots of cars and tracks.
